I Love Lamp

Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm in love.

Well, I'm additionally in love. I already love lots of things (Tom, breakfast, weekends, weekend breakfasts with Tom... you get the idea), but I popped into Laura Ashley on my way home today to have a long mooch around their extra-10%-off sale section and I saw THIS

We genuinely need a table lamp for our living room, and how brilliant is this one?!? The jar part opens so you can put in anything you want- it's essentially an ever-changing lamp base

My first thought was to put lots of white candles in the base, as some sort of new-old juxtaposition wotsit. Then I thought, lemons (I've got no idea where this "put lemons in jars" obsession is stemming from, but it doesn't seem to want to stop), and Lego. I could do baubles for Christmas, pine cones for autumn, cacti for my inner hipster... M&Ms for always.

The only snag is, this lamp wasn't actually IN the sale section. It's from the brand new collection which means it's still at the full RRP of £65. I am therefore about to scour to the very depths of the internet for a decent Laura Ashley discount code. Wish me luck, world!

  1. Very nice! But don't they have massive discounts on everything practically every other weekend? Or...an old jam jar and a lamp making/adapting kit? In the seventies people made wine bottles into lamps. Bring it back I say!

    1. They have sales on for at least 358 days of the year. Anyone who pays full price in Laura Ashley is a little bit daft, I reckon. But I REALLY want that lamp in my life right now. I could get Tom to DIY it- he's an electrical engineer so at least I know it'd be safe to use :) xxx
