Autumn

I'm writing this tucked up in a blanket with a cup of tea in reach, listening to the rain lashing against the windows. Tea and a blanket is basically my religion, but I do love a legitimate, weather-based excuse to get cosy and hibernate. Hence why:

I've always loved autumn and actually bought this badge long before I started blogging, which explains why it's gone rusty- oops! This existing love of autumn certainly helped during my Blogger Brainwashing Induction Session, leaving The Brainwashers to focus on cultivating my love of cute stationery, crochet, and photographing rounds of cocktails instead...

Food and crafting are perennial favourites of mine, but they both seem to become much more comforting in autumn. Melt-in-the-middle puddings, every dinner swimming in gravy, and bowls of wholesome veggie soup are all good things in my (recipe) book.

And evenings are certainly cosier in front of a roaring fire...

What are your favourite things about Autumn?

P.S. There's going to be a new competition on here very soon, so keep your peepers peeled!

  1. Definitely with you on veggie soups and the craft factor. In the summer I feel guilty saying in on hot days to do sewing or knitting, whereas on autumnal evenings I feel justified. I love the colours of Autumn which reminds me, I need to plan a trip to the woods :) x

    1. I'm the same- I always feel hugely guilty whenever I'm not out in the sunshine "making the most of it". Maybe I should move to a country that's completely dark for 6 months of the year so I can get in some serious guilt-free crafting :p xxx

  2. Haha. I love your roaring fire! The soup looks good. I love autumn too (but then I love every season, my favourite seems to be whichever we're in, haha!)

    1. Sounds like a plan- we only make soup infrequently because we very rarely have enough leftover veg to make a whole portion. That said, the story Stone Soup was a favourite of mine as a child and that says all you need is a stone. By the way, if you haven't read that story, you should- it's brilliant xxx

  4. I love Autumn and the cosy nights. I love being snuggled up in front of the fire, hot cup of tea and biscuits and the lights on low with hubby :-) Perfect!

    1. That does sound perfect! I wish we could have a proper fire, but T feels too hot all the time (even in the snow) so I think he'd melt it we had one. The sacrifices I've made for that boy... :p xxx

  5. Autumn is totally my favourite season. I'm a sucker for layers and chunky knits oooh and I love a good boot. I actually was saying yesterday that there's no way I could live in a country without seasons - I get reverse SAD - instead of needing sunlight I need the smell of rain, cuddling under blankets, gravy and custard or I will be all off-kilter.

    1. I totally get that too! I think we need to come up with our own acronym for our version. Possibly involving the words gravy and custard to really get our point across :p xxx

    1. Thanks Louisa :) Maybe I'll advertise on gumtree for anyone who wants their house to look like it's been decorated by an enthusiastic but easily distracted toddler. Half-finished projects in every colour of the rainbow are totally in Vogue, right? xxx
