Life lately and a giveaway

Hello lovelies!

How are you?

I'm officially declaring today "Watching Films On The Sofa Day", thereby giving everyone a free pass to cancel all other plans and snuggle down under a blanket with Hugh Jackman/ Reese Witherspoon/ their Hollywood hottie of choice. Shall I post a film schedule so we can all watch them simultaneously? I'm thinking National Treasure, My Best Friend's Wedding, and The Princess Bride.

This week has been very full on; busy at work, busy at home, planning for Christmas... I was very grateful to reach the weekend in one piece.

Thankfully, the week wasn't all work and no play; I spent two delightful evenings at Fireworks pottery painting studio decorating a cup and saucer, tapping my feet to the lovely owner's eclectic music collection and drinking multiple mugs of tea. I'm very proud to say that I didn't accidentally wash my brush out in my tea once; something that was a regular occurrence during my art A-level days. I won't be able to share the finished pieces until they've been fired next week, but here's a sneaky preview:

Yesterday I found the perfect crackers to dress our table on Christmas day; they've got magic tricks inside them, and I think they look rather amazing too.

Finally, I've got some VERY exciting news to share, which involves this sandy-whiskered gentleman who you may remember from my crafting failures post last year:

I didn't tell you at the time, but I sent a photo of his sad little face to Heather at CraftFail who then asked if she could use him in her book! Of course, I said yes! I thought no more about it until a few weeks ago when Heather emailed to tell me her CraftFail book had been published! Eep!

I think it's absolutely hilarious that of all the craft projects I've done, the utterly crap one has been officially published. The best part is that Helen put him in the kids' craft section of the book! I'm assuming it's because I look so darn youthful :p

Now the exciting part for you; Helen has very kindly sent me a copy of the CraftFail book to give away to one of you lovely lot. Just follow the instructions below before midnight on 31 November (next Sunday).

a Rafflecopter giveaway What have you been up to this week?

P.S. I'm linking up to Hannah's The Week That Was: Captured. Please do pop over and wish the lass luck- she's in the process of moving her whole life (including a lively toddler) from Sussex to Yorkshire!

  1. Foxy fame at last! Lovely stuff.
    A thousand congratulations to you.
We've had a week off and have spent it eating, making a lawn and watching Greys Anatomy from the start. A week well spent!

  3. Oh my, I'm not sure where to start. I think the worst is one that my mum and I did recently. We laugh about it now, it's hilarious. We'd watch the great british sewing bee thing on BBC and we tried to alter this dress my mum had bought in a charity shop. It ended up a complete mess. Pins everywhere, hemline all wonky. My mum looked a right sight in it. :')

  4. Those crackers are lovely! I think Foxy is adorable - if not a little on the *ahem* special side. :-) Have a great week!

  6. My biggest fail was probably the squirrel on the mobile I made Zoe - not that Zoe minds :)

  7. I remember special fox very well and I'd love a copy! Signed by you of course! Am I being thick though? - I can't see any instructions.
I've had a crap week getting over a medical emergency. Apparently I passed a kidney stone. Spent a day in hospital about to have my appendix removed, squirming in agony.
Worst of all; I now face a life without crisps. :(
    I need a happy book.
Am very proud of you, making it into a book. xxx

  9. Haha that book sounds amazing, and right up my street! The girls I work with and I are always reading and showing each other Pinterest Fails on our phones, to make each other giggle, so this book would be perfect for me to take in and show everyone!

I always have huge craft fails. I know it's not strictly craft, but once I tried to marble effect my nail polish. Worst idea ever.

  10. Woop woop on being famous! (are we still allowed to talk to you? can I have your autograph?)
Excellent choice of crackers as well - I'm expecting to see a blog post showcasing your amazing magical talents at some point next year :-) xxx

  11. Oh my--I have to say I am actually fond of your "failed" fox, as it looks adorable in its own way. But it's hilarious that it was included in a fail compilation. It makes me think of the "Pinterest fails" posts that I love to read.

    Another Beautiful Thing
