Saying Sampler

Hey lovelies!

Are you having nice weekends?

I've got a quick craft project to share with you that I completed this week in front of the TV (I just started watching Girls- has you seen it yet?). It's very silly, but then so am I; and cross-stitch is such an inexpensive craft if this stops being funny in a few days years' time I won't feel bereft if Tom decides to put it in the loft (although if he forgets then it'll come out of the loft and back on his desk* again). I came up with the idea after having to tell Tom twice in a matter of days and thought this would serve as a more permanent reminder- haha!

Ooh! Look! It's like it's on Star Wars...
I couldn't find a frame in a suitable size lying around the house, so decided to make a border out of equally appropriately green paper and put it in a bigger frame for now.

It's not the first time I've cross-stitched something that made me smile. Have you done any of your own word samplers before?

*His computer desk in the Boy Cave here at home; I haven't forced him to take this to work :p

  1. Haha, I'm rubbish at cross stitch but I reckon I might be able to manage a brief phrase. I will have to give it a go. It's my birthday today and Mr FHCS thought it would be amusing to wrap up the wooden skewers and bathroom binbags I'd been nagging him to pick up from the shop near his work. How we laughed! Luckily he did also buy me a rather awesome and violently neon Marc Jacobs watch.

    1. Glad to hear you had a great birthday :) Watch sounds fabulous!

I have no doubt you'd be able to whip up one of these- I find graph paper really useful for planning out designs.

  4. I've never cross-stitched before but I'd like to try some day. And I really want to watch Girls. A friend keeps recommending it to me.

    1. It's really good- much more realistic than a lot of TV shows about modern twenty-somethings. Cross-stitch is the easiest craft there is, and really cheap too; I'm sure you could pick it up in no time. I'd recommend starting with something like these - http://www.etsy.com/shop/weelittlestitches x
