Cakeover*

When I was given a cake stand specifically to scribble on amongst yesterday's (pre-)birthday presents I knew it wouldn't stay un-scribbled on for long. Especially when I realised drawing on china was the perfect activity for someone who had spent their afternoon munching slabs of leftover birthday cake and was now trapped in their chair by the weight of their stomach. Hypothetically, of course.

The cake stand before. Pretty, but definitely lacking something...

I couldn't decide on a theme for the cake stand until I spotted this beautiful feather plate on etsy, which reminded me of a card I'd seen on the Urban Outfitters website (well, I obviously didn't see it in-store, after what happened last time....):

I figured if I swapped the Boy Scout style tents for a teepee then the cake stand would have the whole Native American vibe going on. Which would be PERFECT, because nothing says "Would you care for a cucumber sandwich and a Fondant Fancy?" like Native Americans. Nothing.

What do you think?

*See what I did there? It's like a makeover, but it involves cake. It's a cakeover!!!

    1. Cheers m'dear :) I'm pretty pleased with it. Deliberating whether to fire it in the oven to fix it forever, as I'm not sure if the cake stand is ovenproof or not. Thank you for the birthday wishes! xx

    1. I'm now up to 5. I think I have a problem. Although this is the first one with a theme beyond "cake". You should definitely paint yours! Have you got any designs in mind? xx
